Kenmore Refrigerator Air Filter Will Not Replace: Model-Safe Checks

Do not force a Kenmore refrigerator air-filter cover or substitute a water filter. Kenmore sells several refrigerator filter families, and its CleanFlow air-filter products are intended only for units with that feature; without the refrigerator model number, the filter position, cartridge, cover release, and reset control cannot be identified safely.
