A cracked, warped, torn, or incomplete NEFF dishwasher filter is different from a dirty filter: cleaning will not restore its sealing or fit. Switch the dishwasher off and disconnect power before handling the filter, use gloves if glass may be present, and inspect the filter, locking ring, mesh, plate, and housing without reaching into a concealed pump.
