Kenmore Dryer Damaged Lint Screen: Safe Checks Before Replacing It

Stop using the Kenmore dryer until the lint screen and its seating area are confirmed safe. A screen that is torn, holed, warped, loose, missing, or unable to seat correctly can let lint bypass the intended filter path, so do not tape, glue, or run the dryer without it.
