Hotpoint Dishwasher Not Dissolving Detergent | Fix Guide

If detergent is not dissolving in a Hotpoint dishwasher, first separate detergent left in the cup from gritty detergent left on the dishes. With the dishwasher idle, remove tall items that could block the cup, wipe away old residue, and use fresh, dry automatic-dishwasher detergent; never use hand dish soap.
