Stop using the Kenmore dryer until you identify whether the damage is coming from the lint-screen housing or vent grille, the drum edge, or the load itself. With the dryer off, unplugged, and cool, photograph the damaged fabric and inspect the inside of the drum, lint-screen opening, and visible grille for a sharp edge, bent or loose section, missing piece, residue, or a gap.
