1. Check 1

2. Check 2

   Confirm the normal Bake function, temperature, door-closed state, and START command using the front controls. Check whether the display shows OVEN LOCKOUT, CHILD LOCK, DELAY START, or another model-documented state, and correct only one setting at a time.

   Expected result: The cycle was not actually started, a lock or delay state was active, the door was not closed normally, or the settings were valid but the oven still does not ignite fully.

   Next step: After one documented control correction, make one normal start attempt. If the flame remains weak, fails to sustain, or the code returns, turn the oven off and arrange service.

   Stop if: Do not enter a hidden service mode, bypass a lock, force the door, or repeatedly cycle the controls while gas may be present.

   Why: LG says settings must be confirmed with START and that lockout or delay settings can prevent a gas range from running. A valid cycle with a partial or short-lived flame shifts attention to the ignition and gas-supply branch, not to repeated button presses.

3. Check 3

   From outside the appliance, confirm that the user-accessible gas shutoff is in its normal open position and look for a visibly kinked hose or an appliance that was recently moved. Do not pull the range, loosen a connector, remove a regulator cover, or test a gas joint.

   Expected result: The accessible valve appears closed, the visible hose is sharply kinked, the range was recently moved, or the external gas path looks normal but the oven flame is still incomplete.

   Next step: If the model manual clearly identifies a user-accessible shutoff and there is no hazard, restore only that obvious valve position without disturbing the connection, then make one normal start attempt. For any regulator, connector, hose, or supply uncertainty, use a qualified gas professional.

   Stop if: Do not adjust a regulator, disconnect the hose, use a flame to find a leak, move the range to inspect behind it, or continue after gas odor.

   Why this matters

   Why: LG identifies a closed gas valve, a unit-side regulator state that depends on the model, and a kinked hose as possible gas-supply conditions. A normal visible path does not prove the pressure, regulator, burner, or valve is safe or correct.

4. Check 4

   With the door closed and the oven started normally, observe the hot-surface ignitor only through the ordinary viewing path. LG describes a working ignitor as glowing red and lighting for about 30 to 60 seconds; do not remove the oven bottom, rear panel, burner shield, or wiring to see it.

   Expected result: The ignitor does not glow, glows but no flame appears, a small or uneven flame appears, the flame lights and goes out, or the flame operates normally but the oven later becomes weak again.

   Next step: Turn the oven off and arrange qualified LG or gas-appliance service for any incomplete or unstable flame. Give the technician the glow timing, flame pattern, display code, and model rather than ordering an ignitor or valve from the symptom alone.

   Stop if: Do not touch the ignitor, probe live wiring, light the oven by hand, repeatedly cycle ignition, or continue after a gas smell, smoke, flashback, or abnormal flame.

   Why this matters

   Why: No glow points toward an ignition or control path that requires service; a glow without a full flame leaves gas delivery, burner, sensing, or control causes unresolved. LG's guidance does not make this observation sufficient to identify one replaceable part.

5. Check 5

   If the exact model's manual permits a single restart after the visible checks, switch the oven off normally, wait as directed, and perform that restart once. If it is safe and the model has accessible surface burners, observe one normal surface-burner ignition only as a comparison; never use it to test a gas leak or alter the oven gas path.

   Expected result: The oven resumes a stable full flame, remains weak or goes out, the surface burner also fails, or the surface burner works normally while the oven does not.

   Next step: If the oven flame remains incomplete or the code returns, leave the oven off and contact LG or a qualified gas-appliance professional. If any burner produces an abnormal flame or gas odor, stop immediately.

   Stop if: Do not repeat restarts, use matches or lighters, dismantle burner parts inside the oven, adjust gas pressure, or continue an unstable flame.

   Why this matters

   Why: A stable flame after one documented restart can be consistent with a transient control state.
