If a Frigidaire dehumidifier has frost or ice on its coil, turn it off and let the coil thaw naturally before inspecting it. Light frost can occur because the evaporator operates close to freezing, but Frigidaire lists low ambient temperature, restricted airflow, a dirty filter, and a continuous-mode/setpoint issue as checks; its frost guidance lists 41°F as the low limit.

First dry the floor, switch the Frigidaire dehumidifier off, and identify where water starts: around the bucket, at a continuous-drain hose, or from the base/cabinet. A tilted or damaged bucket can leak, so the unit should sit on a flat, level floor and the bucket should be checked for cracks and correct seating.

A Frigidaire dehumidifier can make changing fan and compressor sounds during normal dehumidification: the fan may cycle with room humidity, and it may continue for a short period after the compressor stops. For no power, check the correctly installed grounded receptacle, cord and plug condition, breaker, and GFCI/AFCI from outside the appliance; do not use an extension cord or power strip.

On the Frigidaire FAD504DWD, a humid room can make the dehumidifier run for long periods, but a hose that does not drain still needs a setup check. On the Frigidaire FGAC5044W1, 70°F/21°C is within the documented 41–89°F operating range, and 15 inches from the wall exceeds the manual's 12-inch minimum on the measured side. Those facts make low room temperature and that one clearance less likely, but they do not rule out a blocked or dirty filter, another obstructed air path, an unsuitable mode or setpoint, or an internal refrigeration or defrost problem.
