An AEG dryer that does not complete its cycle may be shortening a sensor program because the load is too small or already too dry, or it may be stopping because of blocked filters, a full water container, a kinked outlet hose, poor airflow, an abnormal room condition, or a heating or sensor fault. First record whether it ends immediately, stops after a few minutes, runs unusually long, or tumbles without heat.

If an AEG dryer is powered but the drum does not spin, first separate a no-start condition from a drive symptom: check the outlet and breaker, close the door, clear delay start or child lock, and check for a full water tank or displayed code. With the appliance unplugged, remove an overloaded or tangled load and see whether the drum moves freely without forcing it.

If an AEG dryer will not start, first identify whether the display is completely dark or the display is on but the cycle is blocked. Check the plug, outlet, breaker or fuse, close the door fully, and make sure Delay Start, Child Lock, standby, or a full water tank is not preventing the programme.

On an AEG TR8G83CW, a display that reaches 0 minutes while the drum makes a few turns every few minutes is consistent with the anti-crease phase, not automatically a failed control. AEG says this phase can continue for about an hour after the drying cycle and can be stopped manually by turning the cycle selector to Off.
