For a Thermomix TM5 that crashes or stops responding when you press the user interface, first protect the food and your hands: stop heating or mixing if it is safe, keep clear of hot steam and moving parts, and do not open the bowl lid by force. Vorwerk’s TM5 display guidance says to check that the protective film has been removed and then switch the appliance off and on.

Stop using the food processor, switch it off, and unplug it before touching the bowl, blade, drive adapter, or cracked post cover. Identify whether the crack is in a removable blade or drive piece or in the fixed post rising from the motor base.

A larger bowl does not mean the processor can handle any amount or texture. If the blade turns empty but stops once food is added, first suspect an overload, a stiff mixture, a batch above the bowl or ingredient limit, or a bowl/lid/blade assembly that is not fully engaged.

For the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus, uneven chopping is usually a preparation or processing-pattern problem before it is a motor failure.
