An LG washer may look stuck because its timer is extending for a selected option, heavy load, excess suds, slow filling, slow draining, or an unbalanced spin; it may also be stopped by a real code or a door/lid condition. First record the exact display or blinking pattern, model, selected cycle, and stage: fill, wash, rinse, drain, or spin.

First classify the odor before cleaning: a musty or moldy smell usually points to damp residue in the tub, gasket, dispenser, or filter; a drain-like smell can follow standing water or an incorrectly routed drain hose; a burning-rubber or electrical odor is a stop condition until the source is ruled out.

First identify when and where an LG washer leaks: at the door or lid, dispenser, inlet connections, drain hose or standpipe, pump-filter access area, rear, or underneath. Keep hands and feet away from moving parts and do not touch a plug, outlet, or wiring in a wet area.

First identify whether the sound is a normal wash sound, a rattling or clicking sound during washing, a thump or walking movement during spin, or a persistent grinding, scraping, or roaring sound. LG says zippers, buttons, and the sound of laundry falling can be normal, while spin noise is often related to an uneven load, foreign object, unlevel washer, or shipping hardware left after installation.

If an LG washer is not draining, stop the cycle and first note whether water is still in the tub, whether the tub water may be hot, and whether an OE code is shown. From safe access, check the external drain hose for a kink, crush point, high loop, submersion, blockage, or freezing.

An LG washer that is not filling may be waiting briefly while it senses the load, or it may have a closed or weak water supply, kinked hose, clogged inlet filter, frozen connection, lid or door condition, drain-hose siphoning, or an internal inlet-valve or control fault.

If an LG washer is not spinning, first record whether the tub never moves, starts and stops, spins weakly, or leaves clothes wet, and note any displayed code. Confirm that the selected course actually includes a spin phase, then pause safely and redistribute a tangled, single, large, or bulky load.

An LG washer that vibrates or walks is most often reacting to an unbalanced load, an unleveled or slippery installation, or shipping restraints left in place after installation. Stop the cycle if the machine is moving violently, and do not reach into a moving drum.
